What is Padlet?

Padlet is a free tool to create an online bulletin board that you can use to display information on any topic.  You can add images, links, video, and more.  Walls can be private, open to the public, or moderated by you- meaning that you approve all contributions before they show.

Ways to Use Padlet in Teaching and Learning

Padlet walls can be used as a place to collect information on various topics.  Post a thought-provoking question, and Padlet walls can be used for debate- a place where students can comment, discuss, or express their viewpoints. They can design walls around certain project themes and include multimedia elements to enhance their words. Walls can be created for vocabulary words or grammar.  Teachers can use Padlet to post assignments, reminders, or as a back channel to their classes.  Padlet is great for real-time collaboration in a virtual space.

Common Core Integration

Padlet supports the ELA Reading Anchor Standards, and more.  It can be used to integrate and evaluate content presented in diverse media and formats, including visually and quantitatively, as well as in words.  Padlet is a tool that allows us to provide opportunities for questioning, collecting and evaluating data, communicating solutions all through collaboration.
